The American symphony rebrands with a new identity.

About the new icon, FÖDA, the agency behind the rebranding shares, “Members of the Symphony have said that the icon does not appear to borrow from musical symbols—instead, it is an entirely new addition to musical notation.”

Founded in 1913 by Ms. Ima Hogg, the century-old Houston Symphony is an American symphony orchestra based in Houston, Texas.

The Houston Symphony is currently one of the oldest performing arts organizations in America, and the largest performing arts organization in Houston.

Beyond holding orchestral concerts in Jones Hall, the Houston Symphony also serves around 46,000 students from across 350 schools in Texas, creating programs for the students such as free or low-cost concerts, school residencies, and classroom visits.

The Houston Symphony also launched the Community-Embedded Musicians program in 2015, and was the first of its kind to be created. These musicians are full-time musicians who perform with the Houston Symphony, as well as teach and/or mentor selected music graduate students.

In 2018, the symphony won its first Grammy for the five recording of Alban Berg's Wozzeck.
