The biggest running marathon's new brand identity is simpler but bolder.

According to the marathon's CEO, Rob Simmelkjaer, "The organization has created a new dynamic brand identity and campaign aimed to match the emotions and energy the marathon brings each year."

The new visual identity is more reflective of the flag of New York, and unites the city's five boroughs with its most iconic icon: Lady Liberty. The rebrand is also in line with the event's 'It Will Move You' campaign.

The New York City Marathon is one of the largest and most prestigious marathons in the world.

Held annually in November, the race attracts more than 50,000 runners from around the globe. The 26.2-mile course takes runners through all five boroughs of New York City, starting in Staten Island and finishing in Central Park.

The route showcases iconic landmarks such as the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge, the Brooklyn Museum, and Times Square, as well as vibrant neighborhoods such as Harlem and the Upper East Side.

The New York City Marathon was first held in 1970 with just 127 runners. Today, it is one of the largest mass-participation events in the world, with over 50,000 runners from more than 140 countries. In addition to the marathon, there are also a wheelchair race, a handcycle competition, and several other events for runners of all abilities.

The race is organized by the New York Road Runners, a non-profit organization that promotes running and fitness in New York City and beyond.
