The private arts and design school in the US refreshed its brand identity.
"Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) is introducing a new brand identity reflecting the institution’s vision, values and priorities." according to a press release. "The resulting visual and verbal framework includes a family of typefaces custom-designed by RISD alum Ryan Bugden and introduces a redrawing of the institution’s 70+-year-old seal, which will continue to serve as RISD’s logo."
Located in Providence, Rhode Island, the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) is a private art and design school founded in 1877. It was originally put up to make design education more accessible to women.
The school is one of the top schools in the United States, ranking top among those that offer Fine Arts programs. It is also ranked 4th in World University Rankings for Art and Design programs. It is also one of the top schools in the US for Architecture.
Some of the school's most notable alumni include artists who have been granted MacArthur Genuis fellowships, Primetime Emmy Awards, and Academy Awards. Some of their most well-known students include actors James Franco, Seth McFarlane, and Jemima Kirke. Oscar-nominated filmmaker, Gus Van Saint, is also an RISD alum.
Along with the school, RISD also has an art museum that features work by American artists like Picasso, Monet, Andy Warhol, and more.
