The sports organization unveiled a new brand identity.
โUSAG has transformed as an organization,โ according to their Brand Evolution. โWe are in the midst of a new movement, promoting a culture that prioritizes athlete safety, support and collaboration.โ
USAG, or the United States of America Gymnastics, is the governing body of gymnasts in the US. The organization got this designation from both the International Gymnastics Federation and the U.S. Olympic Committee. Previously known as the U.S. Gymnastics Federation, the organization was established in 1963 in Tucson, Arizona. Its main purpose is to select and train teams in preparation for International Championships or for the Olympics.
The USA Gymnastics is a not-for-profit organization and is headquartered in Indianapolis, Indiana. Currently, there are more than 174,000 members of the organization, with 148,000 of those members being competing gymnasts. There are multiple programs that the USA Gymnastics governs, including but not limited to: rhythmic gymnastics, acrobatics, aerobic gymnastics, and both menโs and womenโs artistic gymnastics.
Every year, around 4,000 events and competitions around the country are sanctioned by the organization. Beyond this, USAG also implements developmental programs for the variety of gymnastics the organization governs. Among these are the Talent Opportunity Program for women and the Future Stars program for men.
