Born on May 19, 1996, in Lugari, Kakamega County, Kiptoo honed his skills at the renowned Transcend Academy under the guidance of Boston Marathon Champion Wesley Korir. He transitioned to the U.S. to further his training, attending Colby Community College and later Iowa State University, where he garnered numerous accolades including seven Big 12 titles and an NCAA championship in the indoor 5,000-meter run in 2021.
